Dandelions are a surprisingly versatile plant used in many home remedies. The dandelion's leaves, roots, and flowers are edible. It has been used to treat liver disease and stomachache. It has also been used as a blood purifier. Dandelions are high in vitamins A and C. Valerian- The Latin name is Valeriana. Another name for The Valerian is Tobacco Root. The most commonly used medicinal use of the plant is as a sedative. It is very useful when someone is under high strain, pressure, or pain. Yarrow- Yarrow is a green plant with white flowers. This herb is used for medicinal teas for colds and other illnesses. Also, yarrow helps improve circultaion. Yarrow can also be used to stop bleeding. Sometimespeople use it as an insect repellent. To the right is a blooming yarrow. ![]() Raspberry- The Latin name Rubus. Its medicinal uses include using the leaves and roots as a treatment for diarrea. The Raspberry itself can be used for the same purpose when it is brewed as a tea. Black-eyed Susans were, and are used by many Indian tribes. It has been used to make a wash for sores and snakebites. The juice made from the flower is often used for earaches. Black-eyed Susan tea is for colds, headaches, and fevers. ![]() Sage- This plant's Latin name is Salvia.
